The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced Passbook Lite as part of its EPFO 3.0 reforms. Unlike the older system that required multiple logins, Passbook Lite is integrated directly into the EPFO Member Portal. It provides a quick summary of contributions, withdrawals, and current balance in a clean, user-friendly format. For those who want a deeper look at every transaction, the traditional detailed passbook is still available. But for employees who simply want to check their balance quickly, Passbook Lite is the easiest option.

How to Check PF Balance via SMS or Missed Call

If you do not have internet access, EPFO also lets you check your balance offline:

  • SMS: Send EPFOHO UAN to 7738299899. Make sure your mobile number is linked to your UAN.

  • Missed Call: Dial 9966044425 from your registered number (linked with UAN, Aadhaar, PAN, and bank). You will receive an SMS with your latest PF account details.

Why Passbook Lite Matters

This update is all about simplicity and speed. Employees no longer need to go through multiple logins to see their PF details. With DigiLocker and SMS support, EPFO has ensured that users can access their funds anytime, anywhere.
